I am going to try the new beta release, I am experiencing a heavy CPU load with the normal version, I hope this issue has been fixed in version 3.* Comodo Firewall Looks Good, Works Good also, byt still needs to improve some few details! Good Work and better yet its FREE! (:CLP) (V)
Hi Tech
I installed this new version and it works perfectly. My laptop is Asus F3F series Centrino Duo, Vista Home premium (32bit), Nod 32 av.

Another Outpost escapee here, a pity what they’ve done with 2008 versions. Specifically, they FUBARed the UI in an apparent attempt to make it Vista-like. Random hyperlinks in UI text leading to settings is about the worst thing that happened in Windows UI design, and I’m fairly worried to also see the feature in v3 beta following a brief acquaintance with v2.
Now I got the beta following a direct link on another site, and then came here to register to discuss. I do hope that at this point during development cycle (final beta) it is not too late to implement the ideas I have from running the beta.
The biggest problem right here and now is that I can’t seem to find documentation/wiki describing the expected behaviour of the software. I know it’s still beta, but one can’t test whether it works w/o having a reference to compare his actuals. E.g. v3 seems to no longer have the dual layer network security model of v2 (which I like), but also seems to no longer track application components individually (which I don’t like) - are these bugs, or features (documented bugs :P)? And of course, I’m interested the most in the order in which the rules are checked for an event v3 can control, and in how it arrives at the final decision to allow/block.
Enough for an opening post I guess, lest it takes a page all for itself ;))
Intel CPUs has support for AMD64 for some time now ![]()
It uses weird names such as EM64T, Intel64, iAMD64, etc… (:KWL)
I’m going to install the whole package.
I just want to know if someone chooses FW only, the hooks from D+ don’t get installed correct? What about installing D+, and then “disabling”, does it just go dormant or the hooks go away also?
Thank you in advance
Pedro
Just a quick amendment. Since this is a beta version, i’ll try the “simple firewall” option myself. On the RC and final versions, i’ll opt for the whole package to get used to it.
Trying to install the new version right now. When I try to chose a different install directory and use the “Make new folder” option it creates a folder called “New Folder”. When I right click on the “New Folder” to change the name the installer crashes.
Everything is installed correctly. You can also re-activate defence+ later but it requires a restart.
Great work on the new beta version! (:CLP) Everything is working well using Ultimate x86 with NOD32. This firewall is better than anything I could buy. Looking forward to the RC.
This is a BETA release. Anyone here who is looking for a finished product should leave now, because you will find no such thing here. That is why Beta releases are made, so bugs can be found and dealt with. Personally, I love the way it’s shaping up. The finished product should really be quite a firewall. Kudos to Comodo for staying ahead of the game and making an industrial-strength firewall available for free!
I completely agree, this is why I trust to Comodo’s creators like Melih and Egemen and all others,as well as Comodo’s moderators.
All of them put an example how the combination of both security and performance can be achieved.
They really show how much they care about Comodo’s users and their security issues, they answer on every possible problem that you have and they always try to help you to resolve it.
This is something I’ve never seen in any other company.
I’l just say one thing:
Comodo’s techies don’t ignor users like many others do.
You just have to respect that.
And not to mention they all give this firewall for free!!!
Cheers and thanks for that wonderful firewall.

Yes, it is the best thing since Sygate died.
I hate Symantec.
