Allowing Access to Retrospect Backup

I am trying to use Retrospect over a network to back up a PC running Comodo Firewall (v5.8.213334.2131). On machines running windows firewall I simply allow access to C:\Program Files\Retrospect\Retrospect Client\retroclient.exe … so, in Comodo, I set that same file as a trusted application. Retrospect is still unable to get through. I’m not seeing a Comodo pop-up asking if it’s “OK”, nor is there anything in the firewall log (but then there never seems to be) … I have my “Alert Frequency Level” set to “Very High” and all alerts are enabled.

Hey Fiz,

Opening up port 497 (that’s Retrospect’s well-known port) for both TCP and UDP should do it.

I hope this helps.

How would I do that exactly? I would have thought setting Retroclient.exe as a trusted app would have done that.
