Have just installed new version CIS and immediately my ad hoc wireless connections failed.
The workaround I have employed is to create a global rule to allow TCP/UDP access based on the MAC address of each wireless device on the local network. Don’t know if this is the best solution but seems to have solved the problem. Any comments / advice?
That’s seems pretty solid to me.
I concur. I’d suggest another step: define specific zones for all the hosts in the ad hoc network. That way when an application wants to access the IP of one of those hosts, you can easily create a rule for that, i.e., either allow access to one or more hosts (by application).
