I need sometimes to disable network adapter on my PC. When I re-enable it, CIS asks that new network zone detected and offers to choose from Home, Work and public. It does not offer block option. I read that 169.154.0.0 is private address and it shows up when there is no internet connection or it has delay. I have manually added 169.254.0.0-169.254.255.255 to blocked zones in firewall but CIS still detects it and ads to network zones (which isn’t blocked as I understand). My question is: how to completely block this zone so CIS always treat it as blocked zone without asking?
Also would like to know, from where 169.254.0.0 address is obtained, is it coded in Windows or it comes from the switch my ISP has installed in my apartment?
You can’t choose to block the network zone but you can use the auto treat as a public network. This way it won’t trust it like it does for home and work type zones.
