Can I PM you attaching files? Any email or something?

EDIT: I didnt take any screens now, but did the same thing and now the scanner detected 3 instead of 0. I open the folder and the real time scanner popped out detecting more!

It’s a false positif after tuesday signature update. CIS detect my mIRC as a virus too !

Thx Matty & Ronny, I’m checking with the user.

cavscan.exe and cfpconfg.exe are members of the wrong groups for Defense+.
cavscan.exe is in “Windows System Applications”
cfpconfg.exe is in “Windows Updater Applications”
Shouldn’t they belong to the “Comodo group”

  1. Vista SP1, Enterprise, UAC, x32. - Defense+ InternetSecurity.
  2. Default config
  3. Default installation
  4. Manualy change the group membership
  5. N/A.
  6. Done

The user confirms: the suggested registry folder is empty.

I guess there’s a bug in the updater. You have to uninstall and reinstall RC 1.

Yes, If you see the release notes it’s a known issue.

Josh

I have multiple issues remaining from the last few rounds.

  1. Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1
  2. Comodo Internet Security RC1, Comodo Registry Cleaner, Windows Live Messenger Beta, Safesurf
3a. Open Comodo Internet Security. If you either purge the Network Security Policy in the Firewall Section, purge the Computer Security Policy in the Defense+ section, access the Settings in the Miscellaneous Section, run a virus scan on the My Computer Profile or Critical Areas Profile from the Antivirus Section, browse the drives for a file to add to Quarantine in the Antivirus Section, or many other portions of the program, the top of the dialog boxes may be chopped off.
  3. Attempted to uninstall and reinstall RC1 with no success.
  4. Upload Memory Dumps on crash if you encounter any
  5. Screenshots attached for the Firewall, Virus Scan, Settings, Quarantine, and Defense+ dialog boxes.
  6. N/A
  7. The bug that prevents closing a Virus Scan with the X button is not fixed. Please fix these bugs (:SAD)

COMODO now says mIRC is infected with a different virus…

Last AV update date/time, as shown on the Sumary page, is actually the last attempted update date/time, regardless of whether it was successful or not. Tested on a PC with no internet access.

Ewen

Yes, same problem here :). I disabled my wireless and performed an update (gave the ususal couldn’t connect message). To see the change in date/time, you need to restart CIS though (doesn’t show the change unless you restart CIS).

“Manage your configurations” cannot access the desired folder if the GUI wasn’t started “as administrator” (this is an old bug >:(). It’s the same whether UAC is enabled or not.

Vista Ultimate SP1 (32-bit) running in a virtual machine (Microsoft VPC 2007) under an admin login. No other security software installed. All default settings for CIS.

same here!
vista sp1 (32-bit) under an admin login.
No other security software installed.

Application rules are still confused occasionally in RC1.

  1. Windows XP pro SP3 and Windows XP MCE SP3 (problem occurs on both my desktop and notebook).
  2. Avast 4.8 Pro with all resident modules disabled.
  3. Only happens when an app is first started. Once Outlook is open, it won’t ■■■■■ up. I have to close then reopen repeatedly until it happens again. Happens with multiple apps, this is just one example.
  4. N/A
  5. N/A
  6. See screenshot
  7. N/A
  8. I only have the firewall component installed.

Please let me know if I can provide any other info to solve this problem.

Regards,

Habanero

+1 for me, Vista SP1, Enterprise, UAC, x32

Is the only way to get back all those entries to create them manually?

LA

If the AppInit_Dlls entry is not there you can create a new “String Value” with the specs from the screenshot.
or you can try to reinstall

** Using Regedit is for your own risk  **
