Features requested for scan results

I have just updated to version 4.0.088740.3 BETA, but the issues were also in version 3.

This is the “Portable Free” version (actually the unzip and create shortcut version - or the no-installer version).

  1. When a scan ends, the entries that are not chosen are not displayable. Anything found should be displayable. The entries chosen should be clearly marked and sorted to the top of the list.

  2. (Registry Cleaner and Privacy Cleaner) Registry entries (keys or values) chosen for removal should have a context menu that allows display of
2a) the reason why the entry was chosen (the rule or heuristic)
2b) the reason why an entry was found, but not chosen (the rule or heuristic)
2c) the ability to view the entry in context (usually just by opening regedit.exe to the correct location).
2d) the ability to add the entry to the exclusions (full path, value name, key name, full path to the parent key, or subtree of keys).

  3. (Disk Cleaner and Privacy Cleaner) The same items for registry entries apply to disk entries: files, links, directories (folders) and so on. There should be a context menu that allows display of
3a) the reason why the entry was chosen (the rule or heuristic)
3b) the reason why an entry was found, but not chosen (the rule or heuristic)
3c) the ability to view the entry in context, usually by opening a Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) window with the file selected.
(3d) the ability to add the file (full path, extension, name, full path to the directory, directory name, or absolute partial path) to the exclusions.

  4. At least in the Privacy Cleaner, items are lumped together. This probably refers to a directory or registry key. This creates problems.
4a) When deleting cookies, there should be an exclusion list. There should also be an option to only delete cookies that have timed out or are over X days old.
4b) The user should also be able to delete Cache or Temp entries that are over a stated age and over a stated size.

5a) The headings for each page are not clear enough. Several just say “Cleaner”. The option on the left should be highlighted (as if it were a tab) and title on the top should show the detailed description of the page.
5b) I want a Back button. The three choices are usually “Continue” (or a more specific name), “Cancel”, and “Back”. By the way “OK” is never OK.

  1. The program should never die because of a problem. The exceptions in which the program has no strategy for continuing (deadlock, execution of data) can all be handled without “Darwin”. For example, double clicking on an entry chosen for deletion (which should show the entry in context) causes a mysterious exit. These problems should automatically ask for permission to submit the session log, including the status when the program exits.
6a) This is a Feature/Wish that affects how bug reports are handled. This is not a bug report.
