?? Your Server Name may not be a Fully-Qualified Domain Name ??

Hi,

I’m trying to request a certificate via E-PKI Manager. After I cut and paste the CSR in the box on the web page, select the server software and click next, I get the message:

Your Server Name may not be a Fully-Qualified Domain Name!.

However, when I examine the CSR, I see:

Subject: C=US, ST=Oregon, L=McMinnville, O=Linfield College, OU=DCE, CN=blackboard.linfield.edu/emailAddress=bhardee@linfield.edu

And that looks like an FQDN to me. What’s happening here and how do I fix it?

Hello,

You most likely selected an INTRANETSSL certificate, which can only be used on a LAN w/o a registered TLD.

That was it. Thanks!
