i just read this post in wildersecurity

Yahoo Email-Stealing Exploit Fetches $700

though i am curious if a threat would be that way how will you protect yourself

i’m not really suggesting webfilters or webscanner but thats the only thing i can think of beside blocking XSS

Thanks. That’s the power of cross-site scripting attack. Even EMET don’t protect you against this one. ExploitShield also don’t protect you I think.

As for protection. Well you can’t do much about it as far as I know as a user. Just have to be careful. It’s up to website owners to protect themselves against it.
