I may be getting the hang of this stuff, but still think i need a network guide for real dummies book to understand half of it.
I run a wireless linksys network at home with file and print sharing. I use a safe 192.168.1.1 zone to let the network function.
But the main reason I have the notebook is to use it at work and other public wirelless networks. Does having such a wide ip range cleared let anything from the internet in when I am on a public wirless network?

CFP setup two zone for me a wireless card 192.168.1.0-198.168.1.255 and a local lan zone of 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255.
What is the purpose of the local LAN zone, wouldnt that let everything on?
