WinSxS; Can it be infected?

Hey,
Can C:\WINDOWS\winsxs become infected or is it safe to add to the exclusion for virus scan?

I need this answered please, can i safely add “C:\WINDOWS\winsxs” to AV exclusion?

That would depend on wither or not you think inf, dll or sys type files can be infected (since that is mainly what is stored there). With scanning optimization running, once scanned the files should not be scanned again unless changed.

I have not noticed any real slow down in the scanning with this directory included.
