I’m running Comodo Pro Version 2.4.18.184 and every time I turn on my PC I get a security warning to say that my firewall isn’t running (ie while Comodo Pro is waiting to load). Obviously the balloon disappears when Comodo eventually kicks into life and begins initialising, but is there any way to speed up the loading process?
For example, before Comodo is ready my browser, uTorrent and anti-virus software have all loaded and started to connect, whereas I would prefer Comodo to be running before the programs that use my internet connection.
The firewall IS running; it runs from the time you boot up the machine. What WSC is warning about is the GUI (ie, the systray icon you use to interact with the fw); WSC is not capable of monitoring the actual firewall, so it warns about the GUI, which really makes no difference at that point. Protection is active.
If you go to the FAQs/Threads - Read Me First board (can be found from the Help main board) there is a section (or sections) there covering items about Tooltips, Initializing, Doesn’t Start with Windows, etc. These are all basically a part of the same thing - user concerns & confusions about WSC notices, and explain how you can verify that your firewall is indeed working.
No problem, glad that helped. I’ll close the topic; if you need it reopened (ie, you have more questions about this) just PM a Moderator (please include a link) and we’ll be glad to do so.
