Windows Security Essentials vs Comodo Antivirus w/ Comodo Firewall

I am going with the Comodo Firewall only and opting to use the Windows Security Essentials anti-virus.

Would this be a bad idea? They seem to be working together. I’m not ready to go with the Comodo Antivirus yet until I see move independent testing results to compare with other free options.

I’m not saying WSE is better than Comodo Antivirus but I presume it to be with no proof otherwise.

I’m wondering if the Comodo would be better. Anyone have any good links to tests?

For proactive and on demand scanning the WSE did very well in AV-Comparatives testing and especially well in the proactive. For free this seems to be better than anything else. Proactive is where it counts most.

Personally I like MSE. My only problem with it is that it’s not very configurable.

I believe that Comodo Antivirus is finally going to be tested in the next round of AV-Comparatives. I’m also waiting to see the results of this test as I can’t recommend that anyone use Comodo Antivirus until I see how it stacks up against the competition.

I know it’s not bad, but I don’t know how good it is.

Also, don’t forget that if you configure Comodo Firewall correctly, and answer the alerts wisely, you can’t get infected anyway. The worst that can happen is you have malicious files on your system that can’t do anything malicious.
