Windows Operating System blocked trying to talk to DNS server

Everyday I get maybe 100 of these requests blocked everyday. It is my home computer (192.168.1.9) trying to talk to my secondary DNS server (208.67.220.220) with two unreachable ports. Why does this happen? Should I allow it?

This might help
The Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) is one of the main protocols of the Internet Protocol Suite. It is used by network devices, like routers, to send error messages indicating, for example, that a requested service is not available or that a host or router could not be reached

Thanks that gave me an idea about what’s happening. Still don’t know if I should allow it or not with the unreachable destinations. Waiting for other replies

I take it your using OpenDNS?

That is correct

Yes you should allow it and I’m not sure why you are blocking outgoing ICMP messages in the first place.

CIS does block some outgoing ICMP by default. Under proactive ‘BLOCK ICMPv4 Out From MAC Any To Mac Any Where ICMP Message is Protocol Unreachable’.
