windows mail in vista

when i launch the prog, it works normally, send and receive actions work.
but when i click on send/receive, this time i receive an error but when i look into the log windows mail to see the error, the window is empty.
so i have to close the app and restart it to check if i received new mails.
but i can create a new mail and send it, it works.
it’s just when i click the button send/receive that i got an error, but which error as the log error is empty.
anyone got this problem?
i think i’m going to uninstall comodo to see if the error is still there.

I had a simular issue with my emails in the past but it was because my ISP was blocking the SMTP Port 25. Changing the SMTP Port to 587 resolved this issue. Who’s your ISP?

Eric

i’m from fr so u’ll not know my isp. it’s 9telecom.
but it works with xp, no prob.
MS outlook works fine on vista sp1 but it’s not the same pop and smtp, it’s mail servers where i bought my domain.
so is it a bug from windows mail or does it come with comodo.
i’m uninstalling comodo then i will tell if i got the same prob.

i uninstalled comodo and still got the same prob so it’s not a prob with comodo.
i got a bug with windows mail, but all works fine with outlook express so it’s not a prob with ports.
and it’s not a prob with smtp but pop. i can send mail, but if i click send/receive, i got a bug with receive.
if i want to check received mails i got to turn off windows mail and restart it.

update : it’s certainly a bug from windows mail, cause if i click only on “receive all” or “send all”, i got no errors.
the error comes just if i click the icon send/receive all.

Apparently, at lot of Windows Mail problems people are having are because of Antivirus software. Which antivirus software are you using? Are you using any anti-spam programs?

Eric

yes look my signature.

i tried with kaspersky OFF and superadblocker OFF, still the same result.
so i dont know what’s the prob.

All I can suggest at this stage is for you to have a closer look at your settings in Vista Windows Mail. Making sure you’ve got the correct servers / Login information and password. When it does it’s send and receive try and click on the little notice telling you that it’s sending and receiving or change the settings so you can view the Send/Receive in progress.
