Windows 8 Hyper-V Manager

hi guys

i have found a problem in CIS Pro and also CIS free,
the problem is when Defense+ is enabled Hyper-V Manager on Windows 8 cannot create a Virtual Machine the error i get is:
The operation failed.

Failed to create external configuration store at ‘G:\VM\Hyper-V’: General access denied error. (0x80070005)

when you deactivate Defense+ everything works fine, i tried adding vmms.exe and mmc.exe to the trusted programs but that didn’t affect.

i use CIS Pro v 5.12.256249.2599
hope Comodo team can find a solution for this

solved:
adding vmms.exe, mmc.exe, virtmgmt.msc, vsconfig.dll to D+ Exclusion solved the problem

Thank you for updating this. I will move it to resolved issues.

HI,
i have the same problem but i cannot resolve it with your exclusions.
Are you sure that the only files i had to exclude are these?
Where exactly did you set these exclusions?

Thank you,

He probably meant to add those files to the Exclusions of Detect shellcode injections (i.e. Buffer overflow protection).

Yes, that is the case, working as well on 6.0.258294.2626.

Thanks, really helpful !

Cheers,
m.

Update: It is working only a restart was needed! Great, thanks.

Dear All,

Can you please explain exactly what should be done? I am running Comodo Firewall 6.0.264710.2708.
I have already tried to add above files to:

  • Behaviour Blocker / Define exceptions for behaviour blocking Exceptions
  • Behaviour Blocker / Detect shellcode injections Exceptions

Still it is not working and gives an error dialog:
Failed to create external configuration store at D:.…: General access denied error. (0x80070005).

Thanks a lot
