Yesterday i got a nasty virus from a random popup that i did not even click. Microsoft security essentials caught the virus, but when i clicked repair it then said that it couldnt find where the virus was. i then put my computer into safemode carefully watching my tskmanager to see if any new processes were going on. Nothing happened, but when i did a system scan with essentials the computer shut off after finding the virus. i did this 3 times all with the same result. the internet is turned on, but when i open up the browser the virus has blocked it. On safemode i cannot use the safemode internet as well firefox says : the proxy server is refusing connections firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections. If anyone has any ideas on what to do please respond thanks in advance guys.

forgot to add:
nothing works on my computer, taskmanager is blocked and i cannot open any applications. anything i try to open when i scroll over it, it will exit.

Your only option is to boot from a Rescue CD like Kaspersky Rescue Disk.

tried it and the virus shutdown my computer again while in mid scan, could have sworn it was going to work too. ■■■■ haha.

Can you post a Hijack This Log?

Go circumvent the Proxy setting go to Control Panel Internet Options → Connections → Lan → untick everything there and try connecting to the web again.

Just to make sure.

You shut down your computer and then booted from the Rescue Disk, correct?
If so then I don’t believe the virus could have been running. Perhaps I’m wrong though.
