Why not place links to Comodo products on Tucows or Download.com?

There is a way to simply submit software that I saw, unfortunately you must be the one who owns all of the copyrights. Here is what it says on the site.

Since it am not the original author, or owner, I cannot submit these files myself, however I believe Melih could.

Hey Justin, just a thought, put a picture of Scomodo up there, and tell them he has all ownership rights since he is dominating the world, lol. So why do they ask users also if they can submit software? I noticed this too, it goes to ownership. lol, if Melih or one of the other gods, did in fact submit this to them, I get a feeling some teeth gritting would be going on. ;D They are afraid of Scomodo, I know it.

Cheers,

Paul

Lol, and still no replies from them.

I agree, absolutely none! lol. Well, to be fair, I will wait like I said. Hey, we’ve been working hard today to try and get comodo out there, here…

a coffee for you.... (((
                           C [__]

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks, now I’m ready to wait all night

Then i’d better make some more…for the whole Comodo team for a great job! (:CLP)

          <====
          ( )-| ((( (((
          (        )-|    C[__]     [__]}
------------------------------- ----------------

Cheers,

Paul

You make really good Coffee, I hope you have more! ;D

No problem…

         <====
          ( )-| ((( ((( (((
          ( )-| C[__] [__]} C[__]
------------------------------- ----------------

Wow that was fast, thanks for the Coffee!

loll, no problem. I truly do hope we can get Snap files to accept Comodo. Although as you said, it has to be the owner. But they still owe me an excuse as to why Adobe and I know there are others, don’t have to worry about email before use. Why Comodo? I don’t mean to sound paranoid or pessimistic, but something tells me they are trying to shrug Comodo off. I could be wrong, and according to my wife I have been for 15 years.

Cheers,

Paul

Here we go…Copied from my inbox…May want to read from bottom up though…

Hi comicfan2000,

They didn’t say that to use, and all products they submitted lack a download
URL.

Hi, Comodo did in fact say you could offer it without the the e-mail option
as download.com does. I just love this firewall and would like to see it
where it deserves to be, on every download site.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi,

Comodo collect the user’s email address before he can use the software.
We do not list products that require the user to submit his email address
before the software can be used.

Hi, I was wondering why Comodo personal firewall is not listed? Many have
told me they submitted this but it never gets put up there. While I can’t
take stock in what everyone else says, if true, is there a reason? Just to
note: it is an excellent free firewall and is the only one that has passed

,
(in my findings) every leak and firewall test out there. I would have just
submitted it but if others have already , I thought I would ask first. Any
information on this would be highly appreciated.

Thank you,

Paul

Hi comicfan2000,

That’s correct, however PhotoShop is “the” image editor and has no real
alternatives. Adobe is a widely known company and we feel comfortable to
make that exception.
As far as I know, no other download site has a direct link available.
Photoshop is primarily a retail product.
As far as I know that is the only exception we have.

Thank you for the reply but , what about Adobe photoshop? They ask for an
email first and a whole account before downloading their trail. Just
curious.

Thank you,

Paul

When reading this, I love how they say adobe has no alternatives, what about Gimp? Truly once someone masters it, you can do darn near anything you can in photoshop. Not to mention photoshop plugins work with it. If you take those who have mastered Gimp, you can’t tell the difference from photoshop at all.

Cheers,

Paul

Personally, I’ve not run into a situation that could not be handled with GIMP, but I have clients who are graphics professionals and they swear by PhotoShop. It may be something as simple as a familiar environment or even just knowing naming conventions within the menus.

Now for Snapfile’s response… Seems like a direct download link would satisfy them. Wanna wager if Adobe pays for the privilege of the exception?

Hmmm… they list Avast and Avast requires registration, but not till after you’ve tried the product.

As Comodo becomes more popular, they’ll list it regardless of policy, just to get people to use their site. Gaining immediate acceptance would require Comodo to change their distribution method and Snapfiles just may not be big enough incentive to modify their business rules.

Besides, lots of people here are placing their banners on personal sites (me included).

I agree , but as Melih stated, on download.com , you can use CPF without registration or emails first.
I would think this the reason they said about the url all of the sudden. Well , if Comodo gives them that same download method and url, they have no excuse. Strange is the business world . I still like Gimp,

Cheers,

Paul

I like GIMP too.

My nephew has a friend who had his arms and legs amputated shortly after birth. They all call him Knobby, but he calls himself GIMP. I’ve never seen him do graphics. Except for that one time he wrote his name in the snow and I was just not impressed with his penmanship. I still like him though.

LOL… I have been using Photoshop for the last 4 years… can you tell me a little but more about GIMP… Alternatives that are cheaper and can be just as useful are always a better thing…

Ryan,

Look at http://www.gimp.org. You’ll find the native and Windows ports there as well as tutorials. There are commercial publications available that cover basic usage, but the free tutorials are far better and well, they’re free…

I’ve newer know there’s a site salled snapfiles.com
BAH! Let’em be. …we have SComodo to take car of’em.

loll. I agree somewhat but it would spite them more to take a nice , appropriate approach to this and get Comodo on there. This would get under their skin. Snapfiles, hmmm sounds like the mother in law getting her teeth cleaned again… :o

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks for trying, comicfan2000
Seems like Snapfiles has a lot to learn.
