even with previous versions I was always wondering why software makers like apple, adobe, google, aol, limewire, hp, real networks etc were considered trusted/safe but with this new 4.0.135239.742 version countless more are added to Defense+’ “My Trusted Software Vendors” list by default…
does anyone else noticed this? is there any way to select them (by holding CTRL key) and remove or remove all of them at once?
These vendors are added to the white list and are considered to be safe, so when installing for example Google Chrome CIS won't produce any popups.
that’s exactly the point… when I setup a PC for kids/seniors/friends I don’t want them to install any software from apple, adobe, google, aol, limewire, hp, real networks and many others…
Wouldn’t that be up to them to install what they want?
You can set D+ to not automatically make rules for digitally signed applications as are listed in My Trusted Vendors List. To not use the Safe List you have to set D+ to Paranoid and Firewall to Custom Policy.
I guess CIS is not the most ideal tool for your purposes.
