Why CCE is heading the right way and CIS is not

aha, thanks.

It’s an argument of “basic function” versus “total capabilities”. Using the automobile analogy, MOST people probably get in their vehicle and drive, and have done so for some time, without EVER reading the owner’s manual. In that regard, they are using the “basic function” of the vehicle, but because they never read the manual, didn’t know that they could turn off the annoying warning bell about the seatbelt (“total capability”), and instead complain about the warning until someone else either changes the setting for them OR shows them how to do it themselves.

Using a more technological analogy, who remembers the jokes about the VCR flashing “12:00” because the clock was never set? The VCR still performed it’s basic function to play tapes or manually record a program, but could not be programmed to record a show at a specific time. So technology caught up with these folks and VCR’s would “automatically” set the time and date for them.

For one, simplicity is the key to brilliance, that’s true, but regarding Windows and security, that will never go hand in hand.

It’s all about business and if Windows was that secure, of course there would be no need to have anti-virus software and Windows is a proprietary platform opening its doors to businesses.

Windows’ security holes are intentional, which is precisely the reason many countries don’t trust a commercial vendor like Microsoft, which cooperates closely with governement sectors putting back doors into your systems without you even knowing that, considered as legal spyware.

'tis precisely the reason why open-source software and Linux is the only 100% means of staying secure on the web. Why on earth would hackers sh*t into their own nest?

Windows' security holes are intentional,
You mean the security holes they patch every month are intentional and not the result of human error? :o ??? 88) What have you been smoking?

If that is true then why is Bitlocker a problem for law enforcement agencies?

Linux also comes with security holes and gets patched like Windows and Apple. Hackers are not naturally bound and loyal to Linux. They care about hacking, nothing else.

Edit: fixed a quote

Let’s be honest, Windows is just broken code stolen by an individual who made big profit on it. Human errors are one thing, what is done intentionally what even you maybe know of but do not want or care to admit is another thing.

Of course bearing the COMODO badge binds you to remain silent in certain cases, but just have a look at the bottom of my signature, click the link on “Something no anti-virus company will fight” and we’re back home.

In case of your interest, I can post a very interesting article here which is something no one would rather make a report on television about and the reasons are obvious - censorship.

Your statement is broad and sweeping and off topic with the topic at hand

Your line of reasoning walks like a duck, talks like a duck and quacks like a duck.. in short I am not interested as this very topic will go out of bounds...
