I just reinstalled Comodo CIS, and for some reason I’m not getting the list of programs in the Network Security Policy to show up. Anyone know what’s going on here?
from the screenshot it seems that you are using the standalone version of comodo firewall and not comodo internet security. So…i would request you to confirm that
Also,( and this might sound pretty stupid, but I have to ask it) have you restarted ?
Xan
What version of CIS are you using? Try running Diagnostic under Miscellaneous and let us know what it says. What made you reinstall CIS?
napsterz: yes, it is just the standalone firewalll
eXPerience: yes, I have restarted
ericJH: diagnostics say there is nothing wrong. And I reinstalled because I tried a different program, but didn’t like it, so I switched back 88)
Are you sure there are no remnants of the other firewall left? What firewall did you use before?
To see if there are traces of the other firewall download Autoruns and run it. This tool shows almost if not all start ups in Windows and can seriously mess up your system when used improperly. To play more safely with it go to Options and tick “Hide Microsoft and Windows entries”. Then push F5 for a refresh.
Now see if there are any start ups left of your old firewall. When you find one or more untick the entries and reboot.
What other security programs are running in the background at your system? Try disabling them and see if that helps.
EricJH: I don’t have anything left of my old firewall on startup. Also, I use NOD32 as my antivirus, and I never had this problem before until I updated to the latest version of Comodo Firewall
EDIT ---- I just checked the other boxes in Comodo like View Active Connections, and there is also nothing in the box. I’m thinking I’ll have to completely remove Comodo from my computer’s registry and then reinstall Comodo again, would that work?
Most strange!
Are you able to create and maintain new rules?
Toggie: If I get a pop up from the Firewall asking what I want to do, I make it it remember my answer, but nothing would show up in the list
I don’t really have an answer for you la13, it’s not something I’ve seen before. The only thing that comes to mind is a corrupt installation. I appreciate Diagnostics says all is well, but something is clearly not right.
My advice would be to remove, clean and reinstall. Not ideal, but right now it’s all I have.
Thanks Toggie. I’ll see if anyone else has anything left for this, if not, I’ll just start fresh :comodo110:
