Where did these rules come from?

Just noticed that there are some new rules in my firewall settings.

(in Application Rules)
System
Allow System To Send Requests If The Target Is In [Home #1]
Allow System To Receive Requests If The Sender Is In [Home #1]

(in Global Rules)
All All Outgoing Requests If The Target Is In [Home #1]
All All Incoming Requests If The Sender Is In [Home #1]

These rules just recently appeared and I don’t know why.
All I’ve done today is try out ComodoDNS… does that have anything to do with it?

Once you’ve installed CIS you’ll get a pop-up asking for your location. If you choose ‘Home’ those rules will be created.

Ok thanks.
What are these rules doing exactly?
Is there a way to change the network type manually whenever I want?

The rules allow for basic file and printer sharing on Microsoft/Samba networks. The rule is based on the Network Zone identified when CIS was installed, Usually, this is something like:

192.168.1.x/255.255.255.0

Although there are variations.

If you want to change the rules, you can modify the network zone or edit the rules directly.
