I have BO clean installed. I will be updating my Firewall from V2.4 to V3 soon and Comodo suggest that I shut down my anti virus , real time protection etc which includes BO clean whilst I install V3.
I have read the instructions [ and I may have missed it] but if I select “shutdown BO clean” it says it is removed , is this temporary? and will it reappear after I reboot?
Right click on the BOClean icon in the Taskbar. Choose Configure BOClean. On Autoupdate options the option Automatically start BOClean at bootup should be checked ( it is checked by default ). Now BOClean will start up every time on booting.
Red… Just so I have this right in my mind … I assume I ‘untick’ the automatic start at boot up, rather than the “shutdown BO clean” as the icon would have disappeared from the taskbar? By unticking the box this would temporarily disable BO clean and then I just re-tick it when I have finished ?
Thanks for your help by the way [ on both subjects]
Maybe I made it too difficult for you :-[ Forget what you have posted above, and let me give a straight answer to your question :
when using 'shutdown' ( that is using the option Shut down BOClean ) will it return on reboot?
The answer is basicly : YES
What I was trying to explain in my previous post is were you can configure that it will return on reboot, or not if you would like that. I thought you would draw your own conclusion from that
But I don’t want to confuse you anymore, just see if the option Automatically start BOClean at bootup is ‘ticked’ and leave it that way. Now when you use the option Shut down BOClean it will shut down BOClean ( and you can install CFP 3 ), but BOClean will return on reboot
Again, sorry if my answer confused you :-[ And if you still have questions I will be glad to help you
Oh yeah, just one thing : Don’t forget to shut down your network connection ( or pull the network cable out to be sure ) BEFORE you deinstall CFP 2.4, and connect again only AFTER you installed CFP 3.0 .
Cheers RED,
I have for the time being chickened out of installing V3… I am just not confident that I won’t hit any problems as reading the forum there seems to be quite a few bugs/ incidents that are occuring. I take on board what you have said and when the time is right I will take the plunge.
Many Thanks.
I understand you perfectly well A firewall with HIPS is something different Although I beleve CFP 3 is already a very good product I prefer to switch with a clean OS install, and I will do that when the time is right for me too At least we both have a decent firewall for the time being
