A. THE BUG/ISSUE (Varies from issue to issue)
[ol]- Summary - Give a clear summary in the topic subject, NOT here.
Can U reproduce the problem & if so how reliably?: Yes.
If U can, exact steps to reproduce. If not, exactly what U did & what happened:
run Explorer in the sandbox
a. i used next shortcut icon.
“C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\virtkiosk.exe” -v “%windir%\explorer.exe”
b. and also i tested that right-clicked on the file called “explorer.exe”
the both show the black screen.
i can only access “ctrl-alt-dlt”, that logging off and logging on fixed this.
all related files have in the “CIS Reprot.zip” file.
If not obvious, what U expected to happen: Normal execution.
If a software compatibility problem have U tried the conflict FAQ?: No.
Any software except CIS/OS involved? If so - name, & exact version: write to CisReport.
Any other information, eg your guess at the cause, how U tried to fix it etc: i removed virtualbox,iObit start menu,Ultramon program. but I could not solve.
Always attach - Diagnostics file, Watch Activity process list, dump if freeze/crash. (If complex - CIS logs & config, screenshots, video, zipped program - not m’ware)

Can you please attach a copy of the running processes, created through KillSwitch, just before you sandbox Explorer.exe and attach it to your first post?
Also, please provide any relevant security/sandbox software for prompt B7.
Also, please explain what you mean by a black screen? Do you mean that the entire monitor turns black and everything is unresponsive? If so, are you able to use ctrl-alt-dlt? You can add this information to your first post.
In addition, can you please post the exact location of this file? I tried to replicate this, but could not. This led me to wonder if I was perhaps looking at the wrong file.

No installed.

CisReport (cmdagent dump,Killswitch, image, concern file).zip, and i able to use ctrl-alt-dlt.

Thank you.
Ok~ I will find what is causing the problem.
Also just to confirm, is this Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer?
Do you mean that you went to the Windows folder, inside of C-drive, and right-clicked on the file called “explorer.exe”? You then selected the option to “Run in COMODO Sandbox”. Right after doing that you got the black screen, as shown in your attached pic.
If that is true, then what happened when you accessed the options via ctrl-alt-dlt? If you choose to log out and log back in was the screen still black?
i used shortcut icon.
“C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\virtkiosk.exe” -v “%windir%\explorer.exe”
and tested that right-clicked on the file called “explorer.exe”, Same phenomenon occurred.
If that is true, then what happened when you accessed the options via ctrl-alt-dlt? If you choose to log out and log back in was the screen still black?
Yes. i can resolve to use "Log out" the black screen.
Okay, I am unable to reproduce this, but then again currently I have a bug which does not allow me to open the Kiosk.
Therefore, I will forward your bug report to the devs. However, before I do can you please edit your first post so it also explains that you can access ctrl-alt-dlt, that logging off and logging on fixes this, and exactly how you accessed the file, which you mentioned in your above post.
It will be best for the devs if you could include all of this in your first post. Thus, I will hold off on forwarding this until you edit that post.
Chiron this is not reproducing on my Win 7 or Vista both 32-bit systems, sorry I do not have a Win 8 system.
Right click or using Savits suggested target field in a shortcut has no issues on my systems.
Hmm, perhaps it’s specific to Windows 8, or something specific to savit’s system. Either way, it seems like a replicable issue worth forwarding to the devs.
savit, thank you very much for your report in standard format, with all information supplied. The care you have taken is much appreciated by Comodo, and will increase the likelihood that this bug can be fixed.
Developers may or may not communicate with you in the forum or by PM/IM, depending on time availability and need. Because you have supplied complete information they may be able to replicate and fix the bug without doing so.
Isn’t Explorer just another component of the OS?
The OS will run fine without Explorer running, just navigation is a little harder unless you have a third party replacement application.
As far as I can tell all the system and applications are running OK without Explorer running.
Just a thought, which may very well be incorrect if it is required for other Windows tasks that alternatives alone cannot cover.
Can you please check and see if this is fixed with the newest version (6.2.282872.2847)? Please let us know whether it is fixed or you are still experiencing the problem.
