Whats up with Comodo (the previous version of 2.xxx) [Resolved]

Good to hear WU is working now. I reinstalled version 2.4 of the firewall and went to Windows Updates and this time I didn’t have to have any rules in order for it to work. MS must have changed how they check on the machine for previously installed updates. It worked without doing anything. All I had to do was make my Trusted Zone rules and I’m up and running again.

Good work. Shall we call this a resolution?

Yup, go for it this thread can now be closed. :BNC

I think the main prob was the legacy entries in the registry.

Even tho, I had uninstalled comodo the entries in the registry, were still blocking access to WU.

Since WU wouldnt work on this PC or the other PC. With the legacy entries in the reg.

As both PC’s had the same prob (I couldnt get comodo out of the security center, even tho i had uninstalled it, but this is now fixed (with the help of that WMI zip file).

I think I’ll leave comodo off these for the time being. As it did too much blocking.

And ■■■■■■■ too many things up.

Hopefully, v3 when it comes out is more user friendly, and does most things automatically.

Instead of the user having to put so many entries in, to get something to work.

I’ve just checked WU (going thru the other PC) and its fine now.

And I tried it from this PC by itself, last night, and it was also fine.

Thanx for the info tho guys, appreciate it.
