Was wondering if someone could offer some insight. Win Server 2K3, I keep getting this hit in my logs:
UDP Incoming Source: 10.44.0.1:bootp(67) Destination: 255.255.255:dhcp(68)
What type of message is that? Don’t recognize the IF at all.
Thanks! Atari
10.x are private (unroutable) class A IP adress.
Sounds like the LAN adress of some routing hardware (modem, modem-router…) adresses DHCP requests (DHCP, ports 67 and 68, local networking adress 255.x) while searching to communicate with the LAN PC, which is perfectly normal.
