what is this mystery D-plus everyone is talking about

I wish someone would define what is “D+” the letter D followed by a plus sign, that is constantly referred to?

D+ = Defense +. It is the HIPS of Comodo Internet Security Suite. A HIPS control the activities of the applications (OS included) installed on a computer

I AM MORE WORRIED NOW I HAVE READ IT ! ! !

I am concerned by the clause

the user is warned EVERY time an unknown application executable (.exe, .dll, .sys, .bat etc) attempts to run.

Does this mean that it ignores and allows free reign to non-executables such as .doc, .rtf, .ttf, .pdf, and .txt.

This last year there have been malware attacks with Microsoft fonts and Adobe PDF’s.
I do not know of any Notepad .txt / .lst etc malware,
but I am sure that more surprises are around the corner.

Regards
Alan

No worries, bro!
Anything unknown will be sandboxed. If it asks you anything, sandbox it.
As for pdf’s and other stuff, it will open normally ■■■■ if something tries to do to your system, D+ WILL intercept it if it is unknown to the antivirus.
Nothing to worry about so far.
Sandbox is like a virtual jail for bad programs/scripts so you can be rest assured Comodo will make sure you are protected.

You can always add in your Protected Files and Folders groups all the .xxx that worry you.
