Hi All,
I understand the concept of a parent application, and I believe it’s a great feature to include, but I see no reference to ‘Learn The Parent’ in the help files.
How, exactly, does COMODO learn a parent? And what’s the difference between this option and the ‘skip parent check’ option?
Thanks
If you select Learn for the parent, the next time the application accesses the internet, Comodo will “learn” what the parent is that called it, and specify that as the parent.
If you select Skip for the parent, Comodo will not store any parent information about the application; the rule will apply regardless. At least, that’s how I understand it, and have seen it work.
However, the Help files are worded such that it looks like it will specify a parent in any event, so I am not 100% on exactly how “skip” is supposed to function.
Hope this helps,
LM
Yes, that explains the function of ‘learn the parent’ nicely. Thank you
