What happens if I don't respond to alerts?

Trying out Comodo Firewall + HIPS (free version) under Windows 7 64-bit

New user, sorry if this has been posted before or is in ridiculously plain sight in the guides (I R’d The FM) but I can’t find the answer.

What happens to a given process if I do not respond to a Firewall and/or HIPS alert in time? Is the default behavior to block or allow the process, and where can I locate/configure this setting?

The default time-out behavior is to block (Temporarily) There is to my knowledge no way to change the time-out behavior.
