Vundo Trojan

So we recently got Comodo Anti Virus and Firewall on my daughters Laptop. We already had it on ours and are very pleased. Turns out though that she has the Vundo Trojan and just can’t get rid of it. I’ve tried a lot of things, but it keeps coming back. Can anyone help me with this short of re-imaging the Laptop ?? Help.

Hello

Well as you have seen this is a really nasty thingy. It isn’t going to get of easily.

But … normally this should do : Vundofix http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/VundoFix.exe
It is specially made to get rid of it :).
Else try AVG antispyware http://free.grisoft.com/filedir/inst/avgas-setup-7.5.1.43-3339.exe which is of know to delete it sometimes.

Download these tools and safe to your desktop.

Restart in safe mode with networking (for updates) (When booting, keep hitting F8 and then choose safe mode)

Run vundofix and install avg.

If done please send a Hijackthis log in notepad http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/HiJackThis_v2.exe
