Got the AV alert “ApplicUnsaf.Win32.AdWare.cinmus.166@108452018” when updating VMWare player to the latest version 4.
Location C:\Windows\Installer\MSI1365.tmp

Heuristics on High.

The false-positive found during VMWare Player 4 installation was fixed with CIS virus database 10489. Please update and confirm.

For clarification, was this FP triggered because of it trying to access memory and target was comodo cfp… ? Just checked Def+ logs now. :slight_smile:

I tried to install the latest VMWare Player about two days ago, and I’ve received the same alert (“ApplicUnsaf.Win32.AdWare.cinmus.166…”)
Is it FP?

I tried to upload it, but… I have only an install kit which is much greater than 10MB.
And I’m not sure, if it’s really false positive.
At this moment I’m waiting for finishing windows install.
As soon as it will ready to use, I’ll install Comodo again and then try to find the file which cause the alert.

(and I beg your pardon because my heinous English :wink: )

exact the same problem… virus database up to date and still cannot install VMware Player 4.0.1 :confused:

also Comodo says that file “went” to qurantine but when I open quarantined items storage the storage is empty :frowning:
