vmware console cant be connected to

I cannot get comodo to allow the vmware server console to connect. if the firewall is off, i can open the vmware server console and it asks if i would like to connect to localhost or remote but when the firewall is turned on it skips that dialog and goes right to the remote connect box and i cannot connect to local vmware server.

i have add a policy that allows localhost,127.0.0.1-127.1.1.1, and all the virtual interfaces to be allowed. i also added every single executable in the c/prog/vmware directory to my safe files, and defined the vmware.exe and vmware-vmx.exe to trusted apps.

i still cannot connect to the vmware server on my local machine unless i turn off the firewall.

any ideas? thanks

well, if i try to connect to the external ip of the computer (192.168.1.119) or its hostname i can get connected but all attempts to connect to localhost or 127.0.0.1 fail.

any way to fix this?

Clear the CFP’s log and try to connect again then look into the log and if something is getting blocked - create a rule for it. Make sure it is above any block rules.
