Vista Vs XP.

Let’s discuss XP and Vista here. Comparisons?

Josh

XP is smaller, leaner and meaner. ;D
Vista is prettier by default and has DX10

XP all the way. Vista is just a prettier XP. If you want Vita then use Windowblinds. I can make my XP look just like Vita in a sec.

VistaMizer is better !ot!

I like both. XP is nice and small, but Vista has some neat features (readyboost, bitlocker, better memory management, and a kernel optimized for multi core processing, etc…).

People never get tired of this discussion? :o
Solution: Use the OS that you like the most (:WIN)

Nope! Party-Pooper!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway a couple of years later all of us or almost all of us will be sitting with 64 bit Vista or maybe Windows 7 if it’ll be released by that time ;D
Or maybe Linux ? Or OS X ? !ot!

XP still supported by M$ by 2014? Why switch?

It will be seriously outdated. Plus 32 bit Windows can’t see more than 3.5 GB of RAM, while 64 bit can use much more. In about 2010 we will be using 8 core (or more) processors and 16 GB RAM, the hard drives will be 3-4 TB. 64 bit programs will completly push out 32 bit. And if we compare Vista 64 and XP 64 - Vista would win.

News OS = more advanced hardware. Will I spend more for all this? Nah. I’m not a gamer/graphics designer/programmer.

The technology is getting cheaper and cheaper. And Soya - you will change your hardware, like or not. If you don’t, you’ll be left with outdated, feature lacking, insecure OS with programs that are unsupported any more.
Ofcourse - you can use your PC and since your not a dummy and now how to take care of everything (if not, you know how and where to search) it’ll work for you perfectly. But with time the envy to orher OS’ses will rise.

In short - it’s natural and we have to fallow Moore’s law that’s it

I’ll make my own laws >:( thank you ;D

Maybe if my tower blows up, I might reconsider. I definitely won’t jump at a new OS just because it’s fresh out of the shelf 88)

But never will I vista-lize my PC. I care too much for it

I understand. I didn’t jump to Vista till 8 months later, when vLite appeared ;D

:-TU

Most likely, I won’t install Vista, and if the so called Windows 7 becomes something good, I might considering installing it :THNK
But guys, there’s some “outdated” people using Windows 95 nowadays, that doesn’t have any problem at all. Why switch when you don’t need to? XP will work fine for another 10-20 years if you don’t play PC-games.

Ragwing

There is a reason to switch to XP, It has the Advanced system restore feature. & other IMPORTANT enhancements. However, Vista don’t look good.

I agree… XP will last for another 10 years.

Vista has a lot of siimilarities with MAC OS x 10 and it has similiarities with windows XP.

With Vista you get to experience windows eXPerience and MAC OSX 10. Windows Vista is a great option if you are concerned about security, because this OS is build with other priorities than XP had. The driver model has also changed, that explains the bad reputation at this time.

Windows eXPerience has proven too be one of the best software platforms microsoft has ever made, but I agree with Microsoft it is not suiteable for future demands. The new kernel of Vista on the other hand is.

okey, goodday gentlemen!
