So far I have installed CIS on 4 computers, 2 Vista & 2 XP.
On the windows XP machines the installation of CIS went very smoothly indeed and both work extremely well.
However, when I came to do the same on the 2 Vista machines, it was little but smooth, before installing CIS both computers had CFP 3; which both reported installation errors in diagnostics which could not be repaired. On clean installing CIS, both Vista computers seemed to be significantly slowed down.
No other security or monitoring software is installed on these PCs. The XP machines had the same setup to the Vista machines prior to install.
Also some CIS, and previously CFP, program windows dont take on the Comodo default window theme (such as the switch to installation mode dialog box).
Hi, JimBell .
Try to reinstall CIS with disabled UAC.
Anti-virus real-time scanner could be the reason of slowdown, so try to disable it ti see if it’s the problem.
I do not think it is the issue… I have Vista Home Premium x64 and have been using Comodo ver since it became compatible with Vista (first FW and now CIS) and I have never had any problems with installation. And I never disable UAC, just “allow” for the installation during the process.
The problem is a noticable slow down after installation. Both Vista machines also reported errors in installation, that could not be repaired, prior to the installation of CIS.
Installation went smoothly on one of the machines, on the second however I was prompted to install the Comodo network driver - shouldnt this process be silent?
Evening, Try Uninstalling Then Turning Off PC Then Re-Install with UAC Off, and no other major programs running
What Bit Ver Do you have for vista?
I Had This Problem Before on view 32 bit vista versions
I think i updated windows with “Windows Update” and Uninstall CIS Then Run CRC and Restarted and Installed CIS Then everything was fine (I Had UAC Off)
@CGPMaster: It is 32bit Vista and will try your steps. Seems like UAC has a part to play in this somewhere - will switch off and see if there is any difference. Could UAC be responsible for the prompting to install Comodo Network Driver during setup?
