Hi Bucic,
Can you start by providing a screenshot of the CIS logfile:
Antivirus → View Antivirus events → More → Other logs → Tasks launched
It should show something about updates from which version to which version and the update error.

Of course
Please mind the last highlighted entry. Before I took the screenshot I tried to update and it went OK this time. The highlighted entry is for when I first set FW to block all mode and then tried to update.
Thanks. My screenshot’s attached.

Hi Bucic and Spankywoo,
Any of you know how to handle a packets sniffer like Wireshark?
We need networking details to see what’s going on I’m afraid.
An other question, is there any other security software installed on your system & can you provide the OS your running on including the Service Pack version and if it’s 32 of 64bit?
I installed Wireshark once but I wouldn’t say I was using it knowingly. If the procedure is short, drop it in and I’ll see what I can do. I’m off for a few days…
But hey, does it still make sense when my av db update works on both my networks?
Nope, we need a system that fails to update to see why it fails
Hi. Never used Wireshark, but here’s the OS info (it’s 32-bit):
Windows XP, Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.100216-1514, SP 3
Thanks again.
OK
Sorry - forgot to mention that no other security sw is running.
same here
For those still having issues updating the AV and CIS complaining about your internet connection, please create a packet capture and contact me by PM if done.
