Virtual Disk Bus Enumerator

Hi:
Just finished updating CIS to 5.3 via updater. Everything went Well. However, I looked at Device Manager and found six (6) instances of Virtual Disk Bus Enumerator under System Devices. Here are the four (4) relevant screen shots.

I’m not sure if this issues is associated with CIS since I haven’t checked Device Manager for sometime. I had been evaluating Comodo Backup (latest version) about a week ago, but uninstalled it pending the next update.

What is this about? What needs to be done to make things right?

UPDATE:
I had installed the update to CIS on my wife’s Toshiba laptop (Win 7, Home Premium, 32-bit) earlier today. I checked the Device Manager on her machine and there are no instances of the Virtual Disk Bus Enumerator. Does Comodo Backup use this driver and maybe it was removed and/or it’s reference was not removed in the registry.

Thanks. -SA Jack

It is not CIS driver.

Comodo back up makes the most sense of being the father of this apparently orphaned driver.

Do they show up as ghosted? Can you post a screenshot of the relevant part of Device Manager?

Please read this Technet page on the phenomenon.

Thank you for the quick response.

Below is a screen shot from the Device Manager.

I’ve also posted a screen shot of the registry entries involved.

Would it be best to simply delete the registry entries on this item?

Thanks again. -SA Jack

I also have this entry Virtual Disk Bus Enumerator in Device Manager under System Devices. Only one entry is there with a yellow exclamation mark. Can I uninstall this??? Currently I have only latest CIS Suite installed. No other Comodo products. Which Comodo product does it belong to???

Attached is the screenshots of it & its properties.

Thanxx

Naren and Jack.

I would follow the Technet advice I was referring to. Unistall the driver(s), or rather the probable left over of the driver. Click right on those entries and choose uninstall.

In case you uninstalled a driver that is needed by a program or a device you need reinstall that device driver or do a repair installation of the effected program.

I went ahead and uninstalled the device on all six (6) instances. Everything seems to be OK now. Thanks again fior your prompt help on this matter. -SA Jack
