Virtual desktop files are GONE!

Hi guys
I used the virtual desktop to download some “risky” files and after that I restarted my PC without putting them in the shared folder.
Now that I remembered I wanted to do so but when I activated the virtual desktop again they were gone
(I did NOT press any clear , or delete kiosk or any thing)

Please help as the files are irreplaceable !!! :-[ :-[ :-\

Enable the option in Windows to show hidden files and hidden system files, then go to C:\VTRoot\ and try to find the files in question.
