Virgin Media

Hi,

I’ve had a few problems with Virgin Media my ISP. Their telling me they can’t see my system or that their systems are showing my systems not being issued with an IP or something. My internets runnings fine, it drops in speed from time to time but nothing extreme like not being able to connect. Obviously Comodos firewall is the problem with me stealthing my ports. Is there any way of putting a rule in the firewall so they can do whatever they have to do for their systems to show the correct the information without compromising my own security? I don’t have a clue what Virgin Media use as ports to connect to etc. but I am getting repeat attacks being blocked, I don’t know if this is Virgin Media,

app Windows Operating System ~ action BLOCKED ~ protocol UDP ~ source IP 10.184.96.1 ~ source port 67 ~ destination IP 255.255.255.255 ~ destination port 68

I use to have 255.255.255 etc. sitting in active connections but it doesn’t happen now, it might be comodo kicking it out I’m not sure. Please advise without as said, compromising my own security…

By the way, I haven’t got anything in my network zone apart from loopback. I’ve got no file/net sharing going on what so ever… I don’t think anyway.

Thierry,

added the rule and went to do the last step which was renew and got this in cmd,

C:\Users\....>ipconfig /renew

Windows IP Configuration

An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to con
tact your DHCP server. Request has timed out.
An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The sy
stem cannot find the file specified.

also, will this compromise security at all?

Its probably a problem with your modem. Get them to send out an engineer.
