User running Avast or NOD32 on XP needed..

I would like users running Avast/NOD32 on XP (prefer SP2, but maybe not relevant) to confirm or deny that Avast/NOD32 can scan, without error, the following file (default location)…

    C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386\driver.cab

Got a user (here) who gets errors from both Avast & NOD32 (screen shots posted) scanning driver.cab.

Thank you…

Hi kail

On demand scanner of Avast 4.8 scans driver.cab with no problems and no errors.

John

Thanks John.

I have XP Home, SP3, CFP3, and Avira Home Free edition. Located this file through Search, right-clicked to scan w/Avira. No problem.

Cheers grayhair. :-TU

When I was using NOD32 I got errors but those were cause they were locked system files. I was told it was normal. Same with Avast but Avira no errors.

No problems with Avast.

Thanks guys.

NOD32: i386\driver.cab had an exclusive lock on it?

Not sure kail its been awhile. I still have an active serial number if you want it. Send me a PM.

No problems with Avast.

Josh

Vettetech: Thanks for the offer, but no thanks. I’ll stick with Avira until CAVS 3 comes out.

Thanks Josh.

I was offering it to you so you could try to reproduce the problem. I know I love my Avira Premium 8.

Always a Trial version…

Josh

Yes, I know… thanks. I declined your kind offer because this particular issue (Avast/NOD32 not scanning driver.cab) is once removed from the actual problem (an infection) & I’m not even sure it’s actually related.
