USB drive not being recognized

Hello,
All USB devices that were connected to USB ports when installing COMODO Internet Security are working properly. I am having problem with new USB devices that were not connected when I installed COMODO. None of these devices are being recognized by my PC now. I have an external USB hard drive which is not being recognized and I really need to retrieve some files from this hard drive. I appreciate any help.

Hi,

Dell Dimension 4500, 1Gig RAM, P4 1.8 GHz
CIS 3.5.57173.439
XP home, service pack 3
Firewall Safe mode
D+ Clean PC mode

I have tried different modes for both D+ & the Firewall to no avail.
