This morning Microsoft had a security update for IE.
And checking File Hippo Update Checker there is a new Java release that works with Firefox. But there are other java vulnerabilities that will take a while to solve.

The update for IE from MS borked RSS Owl for me - every item I clicked on wanted to open a text editor! Tried a couple more RSS readers and got error messages, so uninstalled the ‘fix’, rebooted and RSS Owl is now OK.
I don’t use IE* at all - I’ve set Comodo Firewall to block it.
