Update

I have the installation CTM 2.4.125818.154.
Two strange problems:

  1. I am unable to open ANYTHING from the Tray Icon.
  2. Upon opening programme from Start Menu, I am told an update is available. HOWEVER, upon trying to install the update it tells me “A network error occurred while attempting to read from” the installer.
HOWEVER, it would appear that this ISN’T an update at all…rather the SAMER programme version I already have installed!
    Any feedback here???
    Thanks

Edit by EricJH: changed the all caps tab to normal case

Hi multipede,

Thanks very much for your feedback! and about your question please see the following:

  1. Please try to restart ctmtray.exe and then try again.
  2. Please delete temp files(Run…->%temp%) and try to update.

Thanks

Hi Jian…
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, neither of these fixes worked.
I cleared the TEMP files and even transfered CTM_216.138262.166 to a new location.
The error: “A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\Windows\Installer\CTM_2.5.129464.157.msi”
The tray icon remains DEAD.
Where is the LATEST version?
Perhaps, I can uninstall my current version and do a clean reinstall.
Thanks.

I have a same problem too >:(

Hi multipede and Finnman,

Please check if CTM can be uninstalled and reinstalled correctly. because The error “A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\Windows\Installer\CTM_2.5.129464.157.msi” is from Microsoft Windows Installer. if you can not uninstall ctm. you can try to use msicuu2.exe(http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe) to uninstall CTM and reinstall the latest version.

Thanks

This is a serious situation.
I warn you all NOT to associate and/or use this under tested product!
Following advice given above, I decided to uninstall it and IMMEDIATELY mucked up the whole of my Windows Boot sequence.
Large amounts of corruption became evident.
I have had to reinstall Windows 7 and, fortunately, a Norton backup from two weeks ago so my losses are minimal.
I made sure that I started this process with a friend of mine, who is a well known technician in London.
With a probable AFFADAVIT in the pipeline, it is likely that I will be beginning proceedings to claim against the Comodo company for loss of data and inculpable product release which, although free, is not “fit for purpose”.
My friend has taken various diagnostics and these will be supplierd to Comodo, in due course, where it is thought that international law will be explored to bring a suitable summons and liability.
I am sorry to have to set this in motion but it should be a warning to you ALL…there is no such thing as a FREE LUNCH!
Thank you.
