Update Problem

i updated BOC this morning, 10/30/07, and, after downloading the malware-database update, i got a BOC-error, “BOC must close”… when i tried to restart BOC, i got a message saying “BOC425.XVU corrupted; BOC cannot run”… so, it looks like todays malware-database update file is “corrupted”…

incidentally, when i tried to close the box with the message about the BOC425.XVU file’s being corrupted, it would not close when i clicked “OK”, to close the message-box… however, i was able to finally close it with “task manager”…

i deleted the corrupted malware-database and renamed the “old” malware database from “BOC425.OLD” to BOC.XVU" and now BOC is running again…

My update was fine today - I have had this corruption occur on a few occasions and I am still unsure what causes it. Have you tried updating again since.

thanks, NTTW… i just ran the updater again and it worked OK, this time…

Thats good, when this happened to me it seemed to occur when I had other software updating just after windows boot up. Since I changed the settings in BOClean so it waits until 7 minutes after boot up before updating I have not had a repeat of the corruption issue.
