Regarding Auto-Update feature in Comodo…

Judging by the lack of an Auto Update for months after the last release and none yet, I wouldn’t take a bet on it. Despite many queries, we’ve not been told if . . why . . or when . . if ever. I’d start with the checklist if I were in that position

We don’t know when an update through the program updater is to be expected. :-\ Communication with Comodo has been very limited over the past year and a half or so.

So it is advised to Update Comodo manually or use the Uninstaller Tool and install the latest version.

Regarding using Comodo Firewall alongside 3rd Party AVs, although I don’t recommend using Avast, if you face conflicts between CF and Avast you can do the following:

You will need to create mutual exceptions/trust rules between CFW and the chosen AV to avoid compatibility issues. Example, include the AV folder at Program Files as an exception at Don’t Detect shellcode injections in these applications and include Comodo’s folder at Program Files as an exception in all modules of the AV.

Also make sure all .exe and .dll files from the AV folder at Program Files are rated as Trusted by Comodo File Rating. Better to disable VirusScope as well since at the moment it is not on par with the Behavior Blocker module of those mentioned AVs.

This is not guaranteed it will solve all conflicts.
