I have tried and tried til I’m blue in the face to get rid of this god awful program.
I slows doen my browsing speed,
doesn’t appear in my list of programs installed in my control panel.
So I can’t uninstall it.
So I think ok…I’ll delete the directory from my program files,
files delete, reboot machine it is back again!!!
Tried the same thing in safe mode,
still it appears again in my program files.
I am running windows XP with an Athlon 2000xp,
and 1gb of RAM.
And since I installed this piece of ■■■■ my computer is running like a P2 266 ffs!!!
Can anyone give me some ideas as to how to get rid of this?
Have you tried re-installing CAVS again? Maybe it will add an entry into Add/Remove Programs which will then allow you to un-install it.
You might try the tool given here: https://forums.comodo.com/index.php/topic,6152.0.html for a total CAVS Uninstall. Comodo had to develop this themselves due to recurrent issues with the Installshield installer used with CAVS 1.1, along with building their own installer for all versions since then, due to the issues.
While waiting for that tool, I was able to remove CAVS 1.1 completely by the steps given here:
https://forums.comodo.com/index.php/topic,4755.0.html, wherein I have included links to some of the issues I faced in uninstalling it previously. My primary problem wasn’t uninstalling it (I got rid of all traces thereof) but with an annoying MSI popup occurring almost constantly.
I hope these help.
