Uninstalled CIS via Revo unistaller over 40,000 registry entries left

My system started getting progressively slower until I finally figured it was CIS that was causing the issue. I uninstalled via Revo uninstaller and during that process while revo was locating all of the leftover files and registry items that were left behind the program never stopped. After 90 minutes it was still finding leftover items and I thought there must be a problem with Revo so I canceled it and rebooted and then I could no longer find the program in the add/remove programs or in Revo. If I start searching for it I see CIS files everywhere but no way to uninstall them which brings me here.

I saw all the post regarding the cleanup tool started back in 2009 thru 2011 but didn’t see anything showing where I could get the cleanup tool for a new version as I started using CIS in 2014 So I tried downloading the cleanup tool from one of the old boards but when I tried to download Google Chrome blocks it every time saying there is malware in the download. When I researched this it was noted that they have a record of malware being sent from this site and will not allow the download.

I don’t know enough about all of these thing and would just like some advice how I can clean up my system of anything COMODO. So if there is anyone that can help me with this it would be most appreciated. I did read about the COMODO registry cleaner and have not tried that yet as what I read about the unofficial cleanup tool seem to be the better alternative.

I will say that COMOCO did keep me free of malware for a long time and I love the product but now I am hesitant to use it again.

Oh after I did the uninstall as incomplete as it was my system is running 110% better. I saw where an update caused this problem

Interesting…
Ok…
Since you have an uncompleted uninstall, go to c:\Programs and delete Comodo, Download and install CCleaner, run it and you should be done…

Thanks

EDIT:
I think your Revo is broken because I just looked my registry through, there aren’t 40.000 registry entries from Comodo, by far not.

EDIT2:
From the top of my head I could think of reason for the PC slowdown. For some reason a AV database update failed and left you with a corrupted “main” AV Database. That can increase CPU usage to 100%. To fix that you have to download a new “main” AV database, reboot to safe mode, go to c:\Programs\Comodo\scanners and replace the database. Then reboot to normal and do a AV Database update. If that was the problem the CPU usage should be normal again and the PC should run smoothly… You didn’t write what PC and what Windows, there could also be reasons. As far as malware goes, I can only speak for my self an I never got malware from this site…

Try using this tool as linked in Most Effective Way to Reinstall/Update CIS to Avoid/Fix Problems.

not very related to the topic (registry leftover’s but relate to high cpu usage) at hand’s but i have similar issue…

i’m getting high cpu usage by comodo internet security helper service (cmdagent i think), around 40 to 50% of cpu, wich leads to system pointing near 100% cpu load…

my av database updates fine, so that doesn’t seemto be my issue…

Thanks for all the help CCleaner did the trick. All is well in paradise.
