Unhandled win32 exception in CBU.exe

Hello there!
I have installed COMODO Backup version 3.0.171317.130 on Windows XP SP3.
I am trying to make a backup of a local file but cannot. This is what I do.

  1. Click on “Backup Now”
  2. Click “Files and Directories”
  3. Choose "C:"
    (I have also tried a singel file, non active)
  4. “CBU file” as format
  5. Press “next”

Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger pops up and says:
An unhandled win32 exception occurred in CBU.exe [errorcode]
Where the errorcode changes every time I try. [688][4044][3900][3336][3680][3892][2580]

Am I using the wrong version? I have tried to reinstall.

The only error I can see from the begining is:
Problems with Comodo Backup installation has been detected. Do you want to see Diagnose Report.txt?
10.01.2011 13:09:03 ONLINE STORAGE SERVICE IS NOT RUNNING!

But I dont want/need to backup online.

Please help me!

Hi

This has nothing to do with Online Storage service and it seems like an user interface problem.
Does the same issue occur if you click “Disk, partitions and MBR” instead of Files and Directories?

Yes, same thing happens.

I’m using 32bit Windows. Is it possible I have downloaded wrong version CB? (64Bit version).

Is 3.0.171317.130 latest version?

Is it possible I have to downgrade for this to work?

Appreciate the help, I really love CIS and would really want CB to work.

I’m sure you have the right version, but just to be sure go to Windows menu → Run → type “%TEMP%\CB diagnostics report.txt” and hit Enter.
And yes, 3.0.171317.130 is the latest version.

You could try 2.2 version.
