starting to get a new error in a program that I have always used
start the program and the firewall states
encountered an unknown error 0x5
then it comodo seems to stop working
any ideas?

Can you give us a little more detail on the program that had the Unknown Error? Is it an reproducible error (did it always happen)? You said that CFP “seems to stop working”… did it actually stop working & what gives you this indication?
Going into one of my games, LineageII, which starts another protect program they use called GameGuard, (this program has to load in first in order to play the game)
Some problems happen with gameguard so you can delete the folder its in so when starting the game it redoes itself.
When its reloading itself, is when the sidebar comes up with comodo firewall has encountered an 0x5 unknown error
Then the little icon on the right bottom, gets stuck at firewall is attempting to initialize,sits there
So if i exit the firewall, and start it up again its systems up and running.
Concidentally since last friday I’ve been having problems logging into game,gameguard is causing problems for some but even if I exit comodo entirely before starting the game, my game is not starting.
Ah… that. The firewall-initializing message is a known error where CFPs systray icon does not get updated. The message is incorrect, CFP is up & running. Just opening CFP & merely touching (not altering) the Computer Security Level slider on CFPs Summary page will correct the message… as it forces CFP to reload the message (because you touched the slider which can alter the message).
