Unable to use Windows System Restore

I attempted to restore my system to an earlier date but when the PC rebooted a message popped up “You do not have sufficient security privileges to restore system. Please contact Administrator or log out and in as administrator.” The problem is my account has administrator rights. I am using Win XP Pro SP3, CIS ver. 3.8.65951.477, System Cleaner ver. 1.1.664939.31
Thanks.

Try to disable D+… Doubt that will help, but its worth a shot in my eyes!

I will give that a try.
I found that D+ appears to block my printer function on start up. Still working on that.
Thanks.

What version of Windows are you using?
Did you back up your system with Windows backup and Restore?
How are you attempting to restore your system?

I am using Windows Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3 on a Dell XPS. I am using the Windows Backup and Restore. I am going through the Help and Support screen to run the program. I haven’t had time to try Backup, with Defense+ defeated, to see if I can restore the session. I will post as soon as I have done this.

The first edition released with XP Pro.
Try these links to see it it helps any:

I removed all of the previous Restore files from the system. I created one Restore point with D+ disabled and a second one with D+ set to Safe Mode. Starting with D+ set to Safe Mode I restored with the store point “D+ disabled”, the Restore was successful. Second restore with the store point with “D+ set to Safe Mode”, the Restore failed and the message “You do not have sufficient security privileges to restore system. Please contact Administrator or log out and in as administrator.” popped up and the system reverted to the running session. I Restored again with “D+ disabled” and was successful.

When D+ is set to safe mode on any start up it blocks the printer feature from installing the printer on the system. When I attempt to print I get the message “A printer has not been installed on this system. Install printer for use.” With D+ disabled the printer function loads fine. I am using a HP printer. I am also connected to other printers on the LAN that I cannot set as default.
