Unable to open websites with firewall turned On

Hey I am a new user of Comodo FireWall

I am facing a problem I am using Mozzila Firefox but when i Turn on Firewall i am not able to use any pages from internet but when i turn it off i am able to view them. Please help me… ???

Welcome to the forums! Please take the following steps with the firewall On and no other applications running:

  1. Go to Activity/Logs.
  2. Right-click any entry and select “Clear all logs.”
  3. Open Firefox and try to access a website. When it fails,
  4. Go to Activity/Logs.
  5. Right-click any entry and select “Export to HTML.”
  6. Save the file and reopen it (it will open in a browser window).
  7. From the bottom of the list (the oldest entry), highlight approximately 5 entries; right-click and Copy.
  8. Paste those into your next post here. If your external IP address shows in the log entries (it will match up with the IP showing in the lower-right corner of your posts here) you may edit/mask it with “x” for privacy.

Then we’ll see what’s being blocked and get that taken care of.

PS: I have split the post out into its own topic to better address your issue.

Moderator’s Edit: Removed excess log entries

I trimmed the post down a bit, as it had a lot more than we need. The 3 entries I left are the very first ones in the log. They show a block being placed on svchost.exe. This is a crucial system process that is needed to establish and maintain your internet connection, resolve website names/IP addresses, update your system time, Windows updates, and so on. It does a lot of stuff…

That said, open Application Monitor and remove any Block entries for svchost.exe (you’ll see a red “x” next to them). Then reboot, and be sure to Allow w/Remember any svchost.exe popups.

If you do not see any such block entries in AppMon, you have probably blocked w/out “Remember” which will create only temporary rules. A simple reboot should cure it, being sure to Allow w/Remember any popups for svchost.exe.

I would suggest using the Safelist to minimize alerts - Security/Advanced/Miscellaneous/Do not show alerts for applications certified by Comodo.

Also go to Security/Tasks/Scan for Known applications.

That should clear up that part of the problem. However, I noticed in your logs there were a number of entries for McAfee. Is any part of the McAfee products a firewall (even if it’s not active; is one still installed)?
