Unable to Install Time Machine

Hi

I have downloaded the Final and released version of Time Machine. When running setup I receive the following error message:-

“Comodo Time Machine can’t detect your Disk ID. Please restart your PC and try again”

I have reloaded the software several times, restarted the PC and downloaded additional copies, but always the same result.

I have a Dell Vostro 1710 laptop with 4GB of memory running Vista Business Premium.

I currently use Comodo Firewall and Verification Engine.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

I get the same message when I try to install CTM on my thinkpad tablet (X61T). I’m running Win7 Pro 64, windows firewall and MS Security Essentials.

Rollback RX 9 ( another recovery app like CTM) installed and ran great as long as I didn’t install my intel turbo memory driver. Then, the laptop w/ Rollback hanged at shut down every time. That’s one of the reasons I am looking into CTM!

Does your Dell use turbo memory?

Wish I had an answer for us… at least I gave this post a bump! ;D

well, despite the general advice I received NOT to touch the turbo memory console, I decided to go in there and disable ready boost and ready drive. After reboot, I tried to install CTM - and the install went through this time. After another reboot, I tried to open CTM and…

"Critical Error: A critical subsystem required for the proper functioning of this product is not active. This usually happens with an incomplete installation. Please re-install the product and try again."

Running the installer again, it forced an uninstall and a reboot. Running it yet again, this time CTM installed without a hitch and it WORKS!

Going to do a little more testing to make sure things work. If so, then :comodorocks: for bringing Rollback to the masses with MUCH better support!

Do you have RAMDISK or attached a VHD files?

I don’t have a RAMDISK nor do I have VHD attached. I have a power USB hub and an eSATA connection via an Express Card - perhaps these cause the problem?

I remember I had problems once before with a Comodo installation - AV giving far too many false positives when scanning my PC though this has settled down now.

I do not have problems with any other new piece of software I install.

Thanks for your thoughts.

dELL VOSTRO 430 WIN 7 / 64 - DID NOT INSTALL CORRECTLY - AND SO I COULD NOT UNINSTALL - PROGRAMS LEFT IN PROGRAM FILES - THIS IS THE ONLY PROGRAM I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH - NO WONDER ITS FREE .

Sniffer… I see from you post that you installed CTM with the your intel turbo memory disabled…
I run rollback rx… but can not run my intel turbo memory because windows 7 freezes and shutdown and reboot… my ? is were you able to enable the intel turbo memory after CTM install and if you did… did you have any window problem??? thx Wid
